Programs
Every young artist deserves a stage, a canvas, and a chance to shine.
Join us in empowering the next generation of artists. Every young person deserves the opportunity to discover their creativity, develop their talents, and experience the life-changing power of the arts. Through meaningful community partnerships, hands-on workshops, and enriching cultural experiences, underserved youth are given the tools, encouragement, and opportunities they need to grow, express themselves, and thrive. These experiences help students build confidence, expand their skills, and discover the power of their own creative voice. Together, we can open doors for young artists to explore literary, visual, performing, instrumental, and vocal arts—creating spaces where imagination is nurtured, talent is celebrated, and every young creative has the chance to shine.

Programming
The Society Incorporated Supporting the Arts Greater Charlotte Chapter is committed to empowering underserved youth by providing meaningful access to arts education and creative development. Through partnerships with schools, community organizations, and cultural institutions, we create opportunities for students to explore their talents, build confidence, and expand their artistic skills. Our programs are centered around The Society’s Five Creative Arts Areas: Literary, Visual, Performing, Instrumental, and Vocal. Through workshops, mentorship, cultural enrichment experiences, and performance opportunities, students are encouraged to discover their creative voices while developing skills that support both artistic and personal growth. By nurturing creativity across these five disciplines, we help young people gain confidence, broaden their cultural awareness, and experience the transformative power of the arts. Our programs provide workshops, mentorship, cultural enrichment experiences, and performance opportunities designed to support students on their creative journey. By connecting youth with artists, educators, and community leaders, we help nurture creativity while encouraging personal growth and cultural awareness.
Literary Arts
Our Literary Arts program empowers students to discover the power of their voice through creative writing, reading, and storytelling. In partnership with Saluda Trail Middle School, students participate in writing workshops that encourage them to express their thoughts, experiences, and imagination through poetry, short stories, and personal reflections. A highlight of this program is the publication of a student literary anthology, where participants have the opportunity to see their work in print and experience the pride of becoming published authors. This initiative allows students to share their stories, build confidence, and recognize the value of their voices and perspectives. We also support early literacy development through engaging community activities such as reading days, book swap events, and our special Reading with Santa program. These experiences encourage a love of reading, introduce students to new books, and create joyful moments that connect literacy with fun and imagination. Through these initiatives, students strengthen their reading and writing skills while building confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for the literary arts.

Visual
Visual Arts Our Visual Arts program expands creative opportunities for underserved youth by providing access to meaningful artistic experiences and resources. Through our partnership with Northwest School of the Arts, we support workshops and specialized programming designed to broaden students’ exposure to the visual arts. These opportunities help ensure that students who may not have the financial ability to pursue private lessons can still develop their artistic skills and explore their creative potential. We are also proud to support student art exhibits, celebrating their creativity and allowing young artists to showcase their work and share their talents with the community. In addition, we host art supply drives to help provide students and classrooms with essential materials. These efforts support both individual students and art educators by donating supplies and classroom tools that enhance the learning environment and encourage creative exploration. Through these initiatives, our Visual Arts program helps remove barriers to arts education while inspiring students to imagine, create, and confidently share their artistic voices.
Performing Arts
Our Performing Arts program encourages students to express themselves through movement, storytelling, and live performance. Through opportunities in theater, dance, and stage performance, students develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, and the ability to communicate creatively in front of an audience. We are proud to support young performers in our community, including partnering with Barre Belle by supporting their fundraising efforts, attending performances, and donating ballerina attire to help ensure students have the resources they need to participate fully in dance programs. By uplifting performing arts organizations and providing support for young performers, we help create opportunities for underserved youth to experience the joy of performance, develop their artistic talents, and build confidence both on and off the stage.
Instrumental Arts
Instrumental Arts Our Instrumental Arts program provides underserved youth with opportunities to grow as musicians while expanding their exposure to high-quality music education. Through our partnership with JazzArts, we sponsor students to attend the JazzArts Summer Camp, where they receive professional instruction, strengthen their instrumental skills, and collaborate with other aspiring young musicians. We have also partnered with JazzArts to sponsor youth workshops that introduce students to jazz and instrumental performance while allowing them to learn directly from experienced musicians and educators. These hands-on experiences help students build confidence, develop their musical abilities, and gain a deeper appreciation for the art of instrumental music. In celebration of youth talent and the vibrant arts community, the JazzArts Allstars have also performed at Jazz in the Garden, our signature event supporting the arts. This performance highlights the importance of investing in young musicians and showcases the powerful impact of arts education in our community. Through these initiatives, the Instrumental Arts program helps nurture the next generation of musicians while creating meaningful opportunities for students to learn, perform, and grow through music.
Vocal Arts
Our vocal arts programs support students in developing their singing abilities and understanding of vocal performance. Participants explore music, harmony, and vocal expression while building confidence through rehearsals and performance opportunities
